I love starting a new planner! As a planner girl there is nothing more fun than opening a new planner and starting with a fresh new year of pages! Last week I introduced you to the new Heidi Swapp Large Memory Planner Kit. I walked through the unboxing of the planner kit and showed you all the differences that this planner has from previous Heidi Swapp planners. You can check out that post and video here.
Today, I am sharing 5 ways I am embellishing the new planner! You can use these tips with any Heidi Swapp planner you love!
Even if you have a traditional planner, creating places in your planner for bullet journaling will help customize the planner to fit your style. This new dashboard for each month has several spots where you can create your own bullets. Whether you have multiple lists to keep track of or the top books you might be reading – a place to keep these notes is important.
Washi and Stickers
Washi tape and stickers is every planner girl’s go-to item. Look at these two things in a different way than you would normally. Add washi tape along your month at a glance to highlight an entire holiday or vacation. Use different colors for different things in your life or for a different family member. Layer multiple clear stickers to make them look like they were clustered there in the first place.
Pull out your colored pencils and sharpen them up once again! I love that I can use ink on these pages and they do not leak through. So, using planner stamps (sold separately from the planner kit) is a lot of fun! Just stamp and color!
Storyline Deck of Days
Heidi’s Storyline collection has a variety of stickers with quotes already on them. I LOVE the Holiday set for this time of year because there are a lot of fun quotes that go with Thanksgiving, gratefulness, and Christmas. In fact, if you are gifting this planner this Christmas (got to share the planner -love!) the Storyline Deck of Days is a perfect kit to give with this planner as well! The stickers are a thicker cardstock-sticker and the foil is such brilliant quality.
I have always loved smaller photos. This new planner design really allows for that! To create a 2×2 photo, I use a photo app (right now I am using Layout by Instagram) to add 4 photos to a collage. Then, I print this 4×4 photo with a photo printer. Several places print 4×4 photos like Walgreens when in a dash or Persnickety Prints for quality. However you print your photos, using 4 on a sheet can also save a pretty penny – which will in turn give you more money to spend on planner supplies. Ha!
I hope these tips inspire you to look at your supplies in a new way in your planner! You can find this planner kit and all the supplies you see below at your local Michael’s store or online.
