Can you feel that? Yeah. It’s fall. It’s in the air.
It’s that time of year when the weather starts to feel cooler.
The pumpkin spice latte’s are brewin’. And the decor on the porches and hearths make a change. Anyway, that’s how it is around here. And don’t tell anyone, but I sort of kind of like it a little.
There’s a certain sense of renewal that comes this time of year in these parts. In my home the decor takes a big refresher as the fall box comes down from the rafters and I slowly make my home take on the spirit of fall. One way that is happening this year is with this here Marquee Love Pumpkin Kit.
This kit includes a glitter pumpkin template. I stayed with that just to keep things real simple. After that was in place the bulbs and lights, also included with the kit, were put into place.
And then I got a little creative.
Michaels carries the Halloween kits exclusively, but also while one is there, it’s easy to grab some ribbon. Fall foliage. Heidi Swapp Art Screen Ink. An art screen. Plus a Canvas Tag. Using all these goodies I took to some creative creating.
I used the canvas tag with the art screen and screen ink to add this design to the tag. I then just tied it to the pumpkin with twine.
The fall leaves, after having pulled them off the garland, were hot glued to the pumpkin layering them over the tag.
Next I wanted to layer the ribbon over the leaves. While that stripe is fabulous, it was just a little too white for me. So they were dipped in coffee and then heat gun dried. After that I tied a couple of bows…
…then layered those over the leaves and tag.
Pretty pleased with the results.
My glittery fall pumpkin marquee now sits happily on one of my vignette’s.
The banner in the background is from the Gallery Wall collection (the canvas banner) and one of the Halloween kits (the triangle banner).
Hoping this brought you some inspiration to create a pretty autumnal pumpkin for your fall decor.
Ribbon and fall leaves also available at Michaels.
