challenge week: 7 gypsies, canvas corp, tattered angels & heidi swapp

Happy Memorial Day… such a sweet day to remember those who have gone before us, especially those who have given so much for our freedom. It was ‘fleet week’ in NYC as I was there last week, and the streets were filled with service men and women, and they just look so sharp in uniform. I have so much respect!

Our family is off on another adventure to take advantage of a day with no school or games or dance competitions… but more on that later.

This is an exciting week! I have teamed up with a couple of my favorite manufacturers and we did a big mix-up with our favorite products.  Canvas Corp. is now the proud owners of 7 Gypsies and Tattered Angles…and the mix of the products is sooo cool! And then when you inject some ‘heidi swapp’ I love it even more!

Designers representing each company were asked to create a variety of projects that we could share on our blogs- so you MUST go and check them out each day this week! Meanwhile, I have a special surprise… I created 3 projects for this week… and I have decided that I am going to GIVE AWAY these completed projects to 3 lucky ladies! tune-in later this week to find out how to enter!

memory file

My first project (of course) is a Memory File. (I am obsessed!) I made this one with a 2012 grad in mind, but it could be ANYTHING about 2012, or whatever you like! It’s full of places to tuck photos and notes. You can fit A LOT of stuff into this folder!

i used envelopes to create something similar to a ‘foto stack’. I adhered the flaps only down, so they can all be lifted to look at the back or pull something that is hiding inside the envelope. The left side has a simple foldover. And I added a ½ file folder inside and tied with a ribbon as well, for extra space to add photos.

card

The second project came together in a snap- the canvas corp flowers are TO die for!! I sprayed the flower Mustard seed Glimmer Mist, and glued a ‘parisian anthology’ button in the middle. I did something of an ‘ombre’ misting job on my Color Magic paper with 2 shades of grey/ silver Glimmer mist and Chalk ink. Ombre means it starts a dark color at the bottom, and fades to light. I am in love with this card.

envelope project

When I saw the Canvas Corp canvas envelope, I knew I wanted to do SOMETHING with it… it’s soft and openable nature just screams to be given as a gift!!

I took those amazing canvas strips and misted them all that Mustard Seed mist, along with that seam binding ribbon-looks fabuous!  I misted the envelope its self again a mix of soft and dark grey. I added a bit of stamped “ENJOY” with black archival ink by Ranger.

I got some ‘canvas post cards’… decided to make them into a card. So I added the black and white across the bottom. And I cut the word “lucky” several times, and I just sewed them on really quick! (used metallic threads)

I LOVE how all 3 of these projects turned out! Be sure to come back all week to see more cool challenge projects, to enter to win my finished projects shown above, and to see ‘heidi swapp’ products do things you’ve never seen before!
