There is nothing like getting snowed in to get the creative juices flowing! Even with the last minute wrapping I have to do, I won’t let some bad weather get in the way of a wrapping something special for someone special!
I was inspired by media team member, Jamie Pate’s newest gift wrapping online class at Big Picture Classes. She shares some practical but genius ideas for wrapping gifts with some household items, like this cracker box from my cupboard.
I took it apart and flipped it around to show the kraft inside and then decorated the top with glittered circles. To make these circles I punched them out from the Marquee Love 2″ Glitter Tape.
After sticking on these now glitter stickers, I tied the package with white tulle. I love having this on hand. It matches everything and makes a bow look beautiful even if you they are not your specialty! I added vintage tinsel and some ribbon from Heidi Swapp’s DIY Gift Wrap collection before tying the star to the top. The star comes in the same collection!
Lastly, I add the name on the tag. I cut a slit in the hole of the tag so that I can slip it in the tulle quickly without a fight. Ha! I have learned to tape this down so the tag doesn’t get lost under the tree.
I hope that using some supplies around the house along with the beautiful DIY Gift Wrap products will inspire you to make the package as beautiful as who you are giving the gift to. When I wrap packages like this, it makes me think about the recipient every minute of the time. I am taking the time to pray a blessing over them as I do it. It makes it so much more special.
Have a very Merry Christmas from Heidi Swapp and her media team!
