we are home again from an awesome and SUCH a busy trip to Arizona where i got to teach at Mesa's Scrapbooks ETC, and also participate in this year's Creative Escape preview day! what an AMAZING preview day it was… i am SO excited. the projects are stunning, and all the different things, techniques, materials and TYPES of projects- they are all just so different and unique. this year's event will be far and away my favorite set of projects. I had a blast hanging out with all the teachers and volunteers… it's almost shocking how many of the ladies have volunteered 3 and 4 times- they are all so awesome, and we appreciate their williness to make Creative Escape great! 4 of the teachers have taught at CE before, and are ladies that i just LOVE and have worked with a ton in the past: Janet, Amy, Kellie and Heidi Lynn. and 4 of the teachers are NEW to CE, and it was so much fun to get to know them better… Ali Edwards, Vicki Boutin, and Karen Burniston. these are all such excellent teachers, and i was delighted at how much i LEARNED! i came away feeling SO inspired. we laughed a ton, and just enjoyed the beautiful AZ weather, and the chance to be together. They have all put so much into this event… i can't thank them all enough!
Here are a few shots i snapped from the weekend… we always set up in the bazzill factory/warehouse- it's emmaculately organized…awesomely inspiring to see all those stacks of gorgeous cardstock!
it was ms janet's bday for preview day! so we had a cake, and sang a song… and she is the one that gave us a present! her project is divine. i knew what it was going to be and it just make me SO happy to create! i have a place for it to hang in my bedroom actually… just perfect!
the morning view from my window at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel where the event is held. i really wished i could chill by the pool for a bit! but we had too much work to do… man, i sleep like a baby in this place!
we got a VIP late-night shopping trip in at the Scrapbooks ETC that is now brimming with the most gorgeous Quilting fabric… and after the classes that day, we were all looking for more styles of fabrics to test our new skills on… the store looks SO awesome, and has changed so much! it was so fun to be there shopping, and also teaching! if you get a chance to visit this store, don't miss it!
we have decided that this year we are going to SHOW OFF the class projects! (there will still be tons of surprizes in store), but i will be sharing photos of the class projects…right here on my blog, and also on the Creative Escape Website…so watch for those. There are still spots to sign up for Creative Escape- you can check out all the deets here… also- you can still send in 5 thank you cards for your chance to WIN 2 spots! and contribute to an awesome cause of sending out a thank you card to each of the US troops. you can read all about that on the CE site as well!
until then, i am in a massive catch up mode, and trying to get a load or two of whites though before morning, and catch a little beauty sleep!
