hybrid mini memory file travel album meets hawaii

my little mini file folders are not to be underestimated! have you seen them? they are just little… approx 6×8″ and they are SUPER cute! you get 6 in a package, and they are just miniature versions of the regular full size folders. and while they are cute and little… they can really pack a punch! just take a look at what Maridette Cachola did with her recent Vacation photos… first off… i am SO JEALOUS of her fabulous trip to paradise! but just look at this amazing keepsake!  Maridette is my ‘hybrid specialist’ so she has all kinds of ideas in here for using hybrid elements… take a look!

My family visits Hawaii annually and this year was special since my husband and I just celebrated our 15th anniversary with a ceremony to renew our vows! I wanted to create something special to remember our time there!

I am ADDICTED to Heidi’s concept of Memory Files.  I mean REALLY… How clever!?!  You can pack so much into one project and at the same time make it interactive and I’m all about interactive elements.  To create my Hawaii Travel Mini File I printed the Freebie Calendar Printable as my front cover.

I dressed the bottom edge with Heidi Swapp’s Destinations Trimmings.   I love how you can heat it up and watch it crinkle… pretty awesome!  When you open up it up the flap on the cover, there’s room for pictures and journaling.

Then, when I opened the main Mini Memory File, there was plenty of room to create interactive flaps and a Fotosleeve Mini for all my photos!

I used my Sillohette Cameo and the Banner Delights Digital Kit along with the words “Crazy Good” from the Adjectives Digital Word Kit on white cardstock so that I could customize the colors using Color Shine.  The colors are just gorgeous!  I used Primrose and Mustard.  Just look at how they shine!  I also sprayed it on Pink Paislee’s Artisan trimmings to add more texture.

We wanted to renew our vows on the beach in Hawaii and Waimanalo Beach was just breathtaking! I collect sand from beaches where we visit and keep them in small apothecary jars. So I used the packaging from the Mini Instaframe as a bag to put sand from the beach where we renewed our vows.  I then placed it in the Mini Instaframe over the picture of Waimanalo Beach.  I then embellished it with Sentiment Stickers, Vintage Chic Mini Tags, and used a pop dot to adhere the digi camera from the No Limits Stickers digital kit.  Now I have a little bit of Hawaii always.

One of my favorite Heidi Swapp products is the  Fotosleeve Mini.  Now these I will definitely hoard!  I cut the days of the weeks that we were there from Heidi’s Days Digital Word Kit with my Cameo and sprayed them with Black Velvet Color Shine.  I added these words on top of the inserts along with  photos and journaling to remember what we did on those days. I also used some more Mini Instaframes and adhered right on top of the page protectors!

I hope this Mini Memory File Travel Album will inspire you to create your own!

Be sure to head over to Maridette’s blog, and follow her on instagram and on twitter! she has some amazing ideas and is always sharing! i learn so much from her! THANKS dette! your book is beyond beautiful!
