Lunch Box Notes | Minc Mixed Media

Minc Mixed Media - Lunch Box Notes | @MaggieWMassey for @HeidiSwapp

Happy Monday, everyone! Maggie here with a fun little project just in time for the new school year!

I LOVE the idea of lunch box notes…you know, little reminders you slip into your kids’ lunches that let them know you are thinking of them?

I know that, as my kids get older (especially my boys), they are probably not as thrilled with finding these notes as they have once been, but who cares…I still love to add them to their bags.

Yep. I’m one of those moms.

…and today I’m using some of the new items in Heidi’s Mixed Media Minc Collection to create some reusable notes…

To begin, I sorted through both the new Gratitude & Enjoy Life Kits (available at select Joann stores), found some pieces I thought would work well, and laid them out in a Minc transfer folder.

I covered the pieces with a piece of Champagne Minc Foil (my very FAVORITE!)…

…closed the folder and ran it through the Minc (at setting #3).

ACK! The results are so beautiful! I sooooo wish I were better at photographing the foiled result…

Next I took a few of my foiled pieces and tucked them into one of Heidi’s new Lamination Pouches (also available at select Joann stores)…

…and ran those through the Minc (again, at setting #3).

Remember, your Minc can be used as a laminator, too!

I used a paper trimmer and some scissors to cut around my laminated tags, and I then I punched a hole in the tops with a simple hole punch.

Next I used the gold Minc Wet Erase Marker to write little notes on the tags.

And finally, I tucked each note into a little envelope (included in the kits)…and they’re ready to be added to the kids’ lunches.

Now I just hope they remember to bring the notes home at the end of the day (ugh.) so that I can use them again and again and again!

Check out your local Joann to find all of the products shown here (+ many many more!)…

And, if you’re the mood for even more fun techniques using the Minc & Mixed Media, check out Big Picture Classes! Heidi and the rest of the team have a whole series of classes using this fantastic collection!
