memory file + custom page protectors = 29 newborn photos in 1 fab project!

It’s Wednesday which means that today debuts a new episode of ‘Create to Remember’… and I’ll be honest, it’s a little TRICKY!  And while the concept is a little tricky to understand, it’s SO COOL and a really fun way to add MORE photos, MORE memories and MORE memorabilia into a memory file!

This week I show you how to sew some basic sheet protectors right into a Memory File to create extra pages, and little photo-sleeve compartments!  In this week’s episode, you will see how I added 2 12×12 sheet protectors :

  1. I cut to 10×12 and folded in half vertically; I cut and sewed a line horizontally that ultimately created 4 different pockets/compartments for 4×6 photos.
  2. I simply folded in half vertically to create 2 ‘pages’, 6×10”.

You might need to watch twice to catch it… but it’s SO awesome! You have to try it!

This is my new little nephew- so sweet! I filled this Memory File project with photos that were taken in the first week or so of his little life  I always LOVE to look back and how tiny they were! That part is TOO short!

I used a Color Magic Memory file, and decorated the front cover with Color Magic Banner Delights (I love to layer and mix these!) and I added one photo to the cover as well. I used my ‘electric blue’ glimmer mist mixed with French Vanilla chalkboard to tone it down a little.  I added some Tattered Angels ‘gravel’ chalkboard to one of the 12×12 papers to use for the inside pages.

Between the ½ file folder, and sheet protectors on the inside… I was able to add 29 photos! I still plan on adding some dates, weights and other info…

Have you ever tried to SEW sheet protectors? Hopefully this project has inspired you to TRY!  Ahhhh the possibilities of Memory File! (and color magic!)

… make pretty stuff!
