Pretty sure I will never get tired of the Minc Machine. I love this thing. I love the ability to glam up anything and add it anywhere. Hi, Jamie here, and look what can be found at JoAnn Stores. The 12-inch Minc Machine can be found there. Along with these cutey little Minc Foil Combo Packs. Plus one of my all time favorite, the Cake Topper (which just so happens to not be just for cake).

Today I want to simply get back to some basic Minc skills. The plan is to walk through the how-to of adding foil to a Minc embellishment, and how all that goes together.

A few things you will need if you would play along with me:
Minc Machine
Transfer Sheet
Reactive Foil
Minc Embellishment

Let’s talk about the items that go into actually getting foil on a Minc Embellishment. First you need a Minc Machine. The one shown here is 12-inches wide. It comes in a starter kit that includes starter foil, tags, Transfer Sheet, and the machine, of course. The machine includes an on and off switch. A reverse button. Plus heat settings. For a great video that explains all the details you need to know about the machine I encourage you to check this one out from Heidi.

Next let’s chat about the Transfer Sheet. This sheet protects the embellishment and the foil.

The LOVE chipboard piece has been placed in between the sheets of plastic, the folder, if you will. Once foil is laid on top of the chipboard, it will be protected when run through the machine.

Which brings us to the foil. Remember the combo pack foil from above found at JoAnn? That pack includes several sheets of Mint and Pink Foil. I went with the Pink for the LOVE. The embellishment was covered with a piece of that foil, with the top of the Transfer Sheet covering it all. Now it’s ready for the Minc Machine.

Turn the machine on. And set the heat level. The package will tell you which setting to have the machine at. For the Cake Topper that package shows a 5. That is what I set the machine to.

Thread the transfer folder with the LOVE and the foil into the machine. As this is done, the wheels will pick up the sheet and pull it through on it’s own. The machine does all the work to foil that LOVE to pink perfection.

You can see the impression left from the heat on the embellishment. Have I told you I love this machine?

After the big reveal, a perfectly foiled embellishment is foiled in the color of choice. It is perfect to be added to a planner, a scrapbook page, a card…oh…and maybe even used as a cake topper. The possiblities are endless with the foil magic of the Minc Machine. I hope this inspires you to try it. Try the machine and the foil and give your projects some glam.
