Hello everyone and welcome to Minc It Monday.
With it being not only a brand new month, but the month of September I was desperately needing a new notebook to keep life on track. With summer now a distant memory it’s now back to routines, schedules, programs and all that real life stuff. Whose with me?!?
So I wanted to put together a notebook that is not only functional but also super cute.
I grabbed these Magnolia Jane notebook covers and journal pages that are now available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores and set to work.
I love that these notebook pages are all ready to go, however because this notebook is going to serve a few purposes I was also in need of some dividers to separate my book’s contents.
Enter the We R Memory Keepers Tab Punch Board. This beauty tool is also available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores and is perfect for creating custom tab dividers which will be perfect to add inside my journal.
And last but not least….I just had to incorporate my MINC machine into this project too. #foilallthethings.
These MINC 12×12 papers are perfect for creating dividers out of. They come in beautiful patterns that can be foiled in any colour. These are also available at Jo-Ann online.
To begin, I wanted to transform them into gold foiled papers.
I added my foil and paper inside the transfer folder and fed it through my MINC on heat setting 3. I did this for all my papers.
Once I completed these steps I had beautifully foiled papers ready to be transformed into tabbed divider pages for my notebook.
I decided that although I could leave my notebook covers plain kraft, I wanted to customize them instead. So I added foiled paper onto my cover.
Using my favourite adhesive I simply applied a thin layer on top of the cover and then added my paper on top and trimmed off the excess with a craft knife.
Once I had my cover, I needed to re-punch my holes so I simply slipped it into my Cinch Machine and voila! Holes are back.
Now to create my divider pages!
Remember…once tabbed pages are complete, they still need to be punched!
Now let’s create our notebook!
Taking your notebook paper, place your divider pages as desired between the notebook pages.
When creating our book it is essential to place your front and back covers on the bottom. Front cover, back cover then inside pages.
Next, slip in your coil.
Using the Cinch Machine, press down to bind the coils and secure your book.
Voila! There you have it. A gorgeous bound notebook ready to go.
As a final touch I chose to decorate the cover with some of the beautiful Magnolia Jane Ephemera.
I absolutely adore how it turned out. The fact that it is unique and one of a kind is pretty cool too.
So be sure to head on down to JoAnn Stores to check out all of these fabulous products which are available now.
Have a great week everyone.
