Seems like there is always that time that you need a quick, thoughtful gift… or even an fun, inexpensive project that you can make for girls camp or even a birthday party craft. This one is even a perfect ‘rainy day’ make-it-cause-kids-are-bored type of a project. I have mentioned that my kids could draw all day long- and a new notepad is hours of entertainment! Let alone a cute one!
This week’s episode of ‘create to remember’ at My Craft Channel highlights some quick and fun notebook ideas, and this one in particular that has a bit of a twist… yea, one of those “how did you do this” kind of twists that are especially good when you give it as a gift!
Just to add something unique to an otherwise simple and ordinary notepad- I gave it a cute zebra wrapper/cover and created a band that slides on and off (adorned with a Disco Heart) to hold the notepad closed, and make it easy to haul around, and not flop open!
On the inside, I covered up the ugly binding piece at the top with some of my new pretty paper… and then check out the cute window I added by punching through all the pages using my Fiskars 1 ½” circle punch (watch the video to see how I did it!).
I covered the inside back of the notebook with the coordinating pretty paper, and added that fab zebra heart from the buzzwords.
Wa laa!! I quite love it!
