ready for monday.

Today was our last Sunday in Beijing… Eric spoke last week, and I was asked to speak today. It was a little bit hard to get through, but I was so thankful for the chance to share my thoughts and feelings…I think that the best part of giving a talk is preparing for it. It gave me a chance to really look at the things I have learned and gained throughout the last year and ½.  It was a COLD, COLD day in Beijing today, and we had planned to take a family photo after church, but man, it was cold, and there were even snow flurries.

As usual, i LOVE having visitors! and i feel so lucky that my dear friend Jodi could come and stay this last week. she has been an awesome help, and it's been so fun to show Beijing off to her. Last night we went shopping at the Hong Qiao Market, and we bought a bunch of purses and watches and scarves to SHARE with the unfortunate that can't actually COME HERE! … i hate knowing i won't have access to all the fun! not that i need anything, i just like KNOWING that if i want it, it's there! LOL… silly girl. Our friends the Mackays came too, and we made it into a big 'extravaganza' as is everything you set out to do here (nothing is simple! lol). we ate at our favorite restaurant, and GORGED. hmmmmm good food.

I had to get everything off my desktop computer that I would need during the transition, and turn my computer off, and take it all down. We are guessing 4-6 weeks before we’ll see the stuff that we are shipping by boat back home. We have  moving company coming tomorrow to help us get packed up and move us through customs. When we came here, we just loaded a container ourselves, and sent it over, and eric was able to deal with customs here… getting everything out of the country is a different story. We have to basically pay a moving company to verify all our contents, then they process it through customs. I am so totally not sure what to expect when they arrive in the morning. I am anticipating a flurry of activity.

I made a couple of little videos today. We are busy preparing for our ‘Easter’ Celebration (above is a little sneak peek!!)  at House of 3, so I was making a video for that. Our new content will all be up on April 1st!  if you aren't signed up for our newsletter, you be sure to do so! we'll be sending out daily ideas/inspiration, you won't want to miss. we have a few other surprises, so don't miss out!
I had been making some thank you cards, so I thought I’d make a little video of the QUICKEST card ever! I have SO many people to THANK, and so I was making a few little cards- since I don’t have any envelopes, and all my stuff is packed up, it’s super minimal, and totally exactly what I needed right now.  Maybe it will come in handy for you some time! (if you need some Jewel Brads or some FLOWERS (on clearance, i love the WHITE too! shipped right to your door! wink!)
I also have been wanting to make a video about how the purse clip works, since it’s hard to describe if you have never seen one… so check that out as well! The purse clip retails for $6.99 and you can get one HERE!
I am going to get a few zzzzzz’s before tomorrow’s big day!
I LOVE Monday.
Here is the quick little cards:

and here is a little video explaining what the heck the PURSE CLIP is:

good night!

I will say that I am a bit sad that there will be no more posts from
China. My favorite have been of you at the Great Wall as that is part of the curriculum I teach to my 6 th Graders. May you and your family have a safe journey home.
Those that heard you speak were blessed. I am sure there were few dry eyes. You are a heartwarming individual that bless us all. Prayers and safety to you and your family.

Heidi, you are such an inspiration. I am a scrapbooker who loves your products (I’m using your ghost shape flowers today). And, your blog inspired me to start my own. Thank you and hope you have a safe trip back to the states. I am excited to hear about your travels.

Hey Heidi. Love all your products. So is there anywhere we can order one of those cute little purses? I am purse crazy and I just love that little bag. Hope your trip goes well. If you don’t mind me asking how was it that you all got the opportunity to go live over there? I think that it is so awesome that your kids had that opportunity. Have a great day.

Best of luck on your travels back to the U.S. I hope it is a safe, happy trip. What a change to come back here after being in China, but I’m sure you’re ready to be closer to your extended family. That would be so hard being far away.
I ordered your purse clip from Scrapbook.com and am supposed to receive it tomorrow. SO excited after seeing the video on it. 🙂 Can’t wait to try it out!!

Brrr, it does look cold there. AZ in the 70’s and 80’s this week…so “welcome home”…just in time for allergy season. Loved the card video. Thx. We really appreciate you!
I know exactly what you’re feeling right now and going thru–boat shipments are a pain and you might think coming back will be easier than living overseas but you have all changed so “back to normal might be different”. Best Wishes for you all. So happy to have you back in the valley soon! I’ll be praying.

Wishing you and your family a safe journey home. What an experience you have had. I’ve enjoyed reading about it. I dream of getting to China one day. We are blessed with two boys, been thru the ringer w/infertility treatments and would love to do a China adoption some day to complete our family. Looking forward to hearing that you are home safe and all the new HO3 goodies for Easter.

OMG Heidi I love your purse clip! I need that thingy so badly! Gotta search the net to find a store that ships to Germany at a reasonable rate.
I wish you & your family the very best for your move! I know how hard it is to leave a country that you’ve lived in for quite a while and started to love and then you have to move back. I will miss your posts from Beijing, yet I can’t wait to hear how you are doing in AZ. (I used to live in Mesa. Loved every second of it!) Keep us posting! And remember Beijing is only a flight away!
    Love from Germany,
    Jenny

Thank you so much for sharing your family journey with all of us bloggers. You truly have inspired me in so many ways. Especially change is possible even if it means moving your whole family overseas. I admired your sense of adventure and your openness to new culture, place and people.
Have a great trip home and look forward to Hof3 April newsletter.

I just popped in after being gone for awhile and can’t believe your stay in China is over. Thank you for sharing your experience and opening my eyes to another world. I can’t imagine moving my family to another country and everything that went along with that, but I can just picture the wonderful stories your children will be able to tell. What an amazing job you guys are doing!
