Storyline + Jane Davenport

Hey there, everyone!

It’s me, Maggie! And today I’m here to share my latest Storyline page.

My challenge for this page was to add some mixed media items…and who does mixed media better than Jane Davenport?

No one.

That’s who.

So I dug through my supply of amazing Jane products and picked out some of my favorites.

Now, in case you don’t know…or don’t remember…I am NOT a mixed media guru. I love the way mixed media pages & projects look…but I’ve never had the talent or patience to put something like that together. I’m much more of a “hurry up and get it done” sort of scrapper.

That’s why I love Storyline so much.

But, a challenge is a challenge…and I LOVE a good challenge, soooo…

I started this page with a sheet of Jane’s Collage Papers. These things are so cool…and the way Jane uses them has me all heart-eyed.

But, quite frankly, I didn’t want to wait for stuff to dry, so I simply adhered my collage paper with a tape runner and a line of stitching to keep it in place.

Next I added my photo & a couple of stickers from Heidi’s “Peony” sticker kit.

To add my journaling strips, I first cut two lengths of Jane Davenport’s journaling tape. I taped each of those to another sheet of paper with washi tape, and ran them through my WeR Memory Keepers Typecast typewriter. Then I simply taped them to my page…easy peasy.

Then I added a little word strip from the “Kraft” Deck of Days.

I really love how, with just a few words, just a few stickers, you can make your memories so beautiful.

Finally I added my title – “COUSINS.”

To do this, I found an old set of Heidi’s Color Magic Chipboard Alpha Stickers & traced around the insides of each popped-out letter. You could definitely do this with any chipboard letter “skeleton,” or trace around each letter with any chipboard alpha you may have around.

I colored each letter in with some of Jane’s watercolors & done!

I gotta tell ya…I’m not much of a purple-lover, but I LOVE the way it looks with the hot pink & navy on this page!

And I love stretching myself a bit to include things on my page that I probably wouldn’t normally gravitate to.

I hope I’ve inspired you to do the same!
