Over the past week or so the rest of the girls on the Media Team have been sharing how they are documenting their stories in Heidi’s new Storyline Collection…
…today it’s my turn.
I love love LOVE the idea behind this new collection…Tell Your Story.
Just get those photos printed…write stuff down…GET IT DOCUMENTED.
And now…thanks to Storyline, that’s what I’ve FINALLY been able to accomplish with my kids’ school photos.
I’ll tell ya…I had a bit of a hard time gathering all of these photos (in fact…while I was putting them together I noticed I’m missing some!)…I had put them in a number of places and they were all sitting in boxes.
But no more.
Now my kids have an actual album they can look through to see all of (well, most of, anyway…;)) their school photos. One place where they can see just how much they grew each year. It’s pretty awesome.
And the VERY BEST thing? The entire album took me about 3 hours to complete.
Let me show you some highlights…
As you know, each Storyline album comes with 14 page protectors & 28 white backgrounds.
It also comes with this awesome plastic pocket. I used my pocket to store extra photos for each child – not ALL of the extra photos, mind you…just 1 or 2 small ones from each year so that the kids have non-scrapped ones if they ever want them – and I tossed all the rest.
The coordinating Deck of Days & Sticker Kits are the PERFECT thing to use with your Storyline album. All pre-sticky and ready just place right down. No real “work” involved…and that’s perfect for those of us with very little time on our hands.
Each of my pages includes one (or 2!) photos and a quick little blurb about that school year. I also made sure to include the names of the kids’ teachers each year.
I tucked class photos in between the individual photo pages…
…and traced around some of the sticker shapes to add more journaling.
I didn’t end up ordering my daughter’s graduation photos (they’re just not that great…), but I DID use the proof sheet in my album. I think that grid of photos looks pretty awesome!
I really kept each page so simple…photos, a few little embellishments, and a quick story. Easy peasy.
I even included an 8×10 and just added a few stickers right on top of the photo.
And it will be so easy to add to this album as the kids continue going through school!
Plus, I’ll make sure to do that as soon as I get new photos…instead of waiting almost 10 years…yikes.
Now, when I say these pages came together quickly…I’m being totally serious. The page below came together in 6 minutes & 32 seconds. That has to set some sort of record. And the ONLY thing I was certain on before I started creating the page was the photos I was going to use.
6 MINUTES & 32 SECONDS!
Even the most time-crunched moms (or dads!) can bust out an album if that’s all it takes to complete a page!
Here…take a quick look for yourself…don’t worry…this is a condensed version…it’s only 1 minute long…
And the very best part?
Getting to see the kids look through the album.
They LOVE seeing these photos of themselves…and they love looking back on those years.
And seeing their faces while they’re doing so?
Yeah…it gets me every time.
We all have stories to tell…isn’t it about time we tell them?
