Today is all about looking back…and looking ahead. Can you believe it is already February? I cannot. I really do not know where the month of January went. However, thanks to my Memory Planner…I actually have a good idea of where it went and what did happen! 😉
This year, I am using a few planners. Each serving a different memory keeping purpose. For those of you who have not yet seen this amazing planner, it is the Time Flies Memory Planner from the Heidi Swapp Memory Planner Collection. It is one of MANY that have just been released, and for me a personal favourite. (You can see the entire line of delicious Memory Planners and Planner Accessories here).
I love this planner because it is a bit larger in size. It also has a different format. Instead of their being typical daily/weekly planner pages (like most) it offers a few pages that provide a space to document your month freely, creatively, and without any intimidation whatsoever!
Here, let me show you what I mean!
Inside I have personalized my album’s first page. This planner is going to serve as a “highlight reel” for my 2017. Inside these pages you are going to find favourite photos, memories, quotes, notes and journaling that serve as monthly highlights of my life each month. I am really loving this approach because it is essentially providing me with a “birds eye view” of this year. A real collection it will be in the end.
This “dates to remember” page is super fun. Ideally it has monthly spaces for one to write about the months highlights and important events. However for me, I am going to use each space to highlight one photo that stands out to me from each month. It is going to be so fun to look back and see each months memory as time passes.
Now for the inside. I love that the left hand side of this album is really a creative blank canvas. It is filled with empty spaces that have prompts. They can be filled in however you would like. I love this. I find it really takes the guesswork out of what “to do”. The right hand side is a large calendar. From February on there is also a pocket sleeve found in-between where I have placed my foiled printable.
For myself consistency is key to success. I will probably be staying true to format. Filling out the prompts, adding in a monthly family photo, a selfie, a quote.
I also love using my Typecast to add in type text for variety as well. To do that I simply used fine scissors to make tiny slits where the coils sit. I removed the page, placed in my Typecast added my text and then added it back into my album.
One goal of mine each month is to always include a family photo of the month. Because we have a young 2 year old (and a baby on the way) I think this is a great way to celebrate, honour and appreciate the passage and fragility of time. So important to recognize this as we all know and feel how fast time passes.
I also love adding Instax prints into my albums. I think this will also be a regular occurrence found on this page as well as the months carry on.
I added this printable that I had foiled using the MINC from Creativation in Phoenix. We were doing make and takes at the booth and this was one of them. I always have adored this sentiment. I think it’s a great reminder for a new year.
On the back side I placed a large 5×7 photo.
I am approaching each calendar page in this album again as a “highlight reel”.
I really want to fill it up not only with photos, but words and memories of the little things that I want to remember. It is so true how fast we forget.
I hope you have enjoyed this inside look of where I am taking my Time Flies Memory Planner for 2017. This is such an easy and effective way to memory keep. I know you will love this Memory Planner just as much as I do.
