DIY Notebooks

DIY Notebooks by @createoften for @heidiswapp

This time of year I am drawn to all kinds of back to school supplies! I love browsing those aisles filled with binders, notebooks, and pencils. In between flipping through new planners and journals, I am also looking for plain ones that I can DIY at a great price!

I found these journals at Target and knew they would be perfect to decorate in Heidi Swapp style!

– Place non-stick craft mat in between journal cover and pages. Place stencil on the journal and add Hot Pink Texture Paste to the top, Pink in the middle, and pick up the White and pull it down at the bottom of the stencil. You will get an ombré look. If you have never used texture paste. Watch how easy it is to use here.

– Let air dry on its own.

– When dry, use Black Color Shine to mist over the top of it. Let it soak in for about 10 seconds. Then wipe and buff with paper towels.

–  Spray some window cleaner on a paper towel and wipe the texture paste down so that the paste colors are not tinted with Color Shine. This makes the color of the paste stand out!

Next time you are in the back to school section, look at those notebooks and journals differently! Think outside the box and personalize them with stencils and texture paste!

Supplies: Texture Paste – Hot Pink, Pink, and White; Scrapper or Old Credit Card; Stencil; and Black Color Shine all available at Michaels Stores!
