Halloween in Lights | Eek! Wreath

Happy Happy October!

Wow! How did we get HERE so fast?

I’ve been slowly, but surely, decorating the house for Halloween and I’m almost done.

The front porch is finished, the living room & dining room are all done, and the family room is getting close…

I’ve just finished this wreath that I’ve placed at the bottom of the stairs from our kitchen to our family room…and I’m so excited to share it with you!

I started with the new EEK Marquee Love Light Banner Kit & the Witch Marquee Love Light Garland Kit…both of which are available at Michaels stores.

Then I grabbed a fantastic black feather wreath I’ve had for ages and a few spooky black crows, and got to work.

Instead of assembling the EEK banner horizontally as stated in the directions, I decided to string the pieces together vertically.

There were two strings in the kit – so I used one for each side of the letters – weaving the string through the already-punched holes in each letter…tying knots above each piece so that it didn’t slide down onto the piece below it. I made sure to leave enough string at the top of the first “E” to be able to hang my banner from the top of my wreath.

Then I simply hung my new banner on the same hook I used to hang my wreath.

I decided to keep the witch pieces from my light garland separate from the lights, and to attach a few of them individually to the wall around my project.

A small foam adhesive dot worked perfectly for this…

…and I love how the little silhouettes give the effect of a whole coven circling the wreath.

Finally, I added the light strand from the witch garland to the outside of the wreath.

To do this, I added small glue dots just outside the circle of feathers, and pushed the light strand into them.

A few little crows added around my project finish off this spooky Halloween decor.

And that’s it!

I love seeing this bright, beautiful piece at the bottom of my stairs…it really adds just the right amount of scary…
