Welcome to our first Heidi Swapp Mash-Up Blog Hop!
The definition of a Mash-Up (according to the Urban Dictionary) is, “v. To take elements of two or more pre-existing pieces of music and combine them to make a new song. n. A song comprised of elements of two or more…”
A Heidi Swapp Mash-Up is taking elements from two or more collections and to combine them to make something fabulous! We have asked each media team member to name two Heidi Swapp products and compile a Mash-Up List. Then, each team member took the full list and used that (and more!) to create their first Mash-Up project!
Here is the Mash-Up List:
At least 1 Day Glow Photo Corner
At least 2 Pattern Papers from Different Heidi Swapp Collections
Handwriting – either your own or Heidi’s digital words
alright… i too took the MASH UP challenge…
and with my ‘mash-up’ project, can i share a story?
almost 18 years ago i married my sweetheart of whom i had been on and off dating for about 5 years. he was from Arizona, and i was from Utah… but he was living in Utah attending BYU when we met. I didn’t know his family very well, since they lived so far away, and i didn’t really know that his mom had a COLOR. her ‘color’ is RED! She LOVES red and black and white polka-dots and hearts, and since i can remember…her house and her look… from shoes to purses were all about RED. i am not so much a RED lover. so in ALL my years of designing product, there has never really been much RED. there has been a touch here or there… but REALLY, this was party of my motivation for COLOR MAGIC! so that i could make a project, card, gift, etc just for HER and but not have to commit to a RED collection! because i learned a LONG time ago, that you give her gifts that are in her ‘color’! and ANYTHING that you give her in her ‘color’… she LOVES!!
STORY #2: for equally as long… (almost 18 years) i have been lucky enough to accompany Eric’s family to Newport beach for summer family vacations! and it’s my ALL TIME favorite Swapp Family tradition! SO… i thought i’d make this scrapbook page for my sweet mother-in-law! i thought that it would be cute clipped into a white IKEA shadow box (that is her other ‘color’: anything white!) anyway… the story is that USUALLY we have coordinated our clothes and taken a family photo, and this year it was kinda boycotted! instead we went with the ‘what you see is what you get’ family photo, and actually i quite love it! I am so thankful for these people! they love me unconditionally and accept me with my faults… i’m lucky!**BLESSED!**
ok… so can you see all my pieces for the mash up? the little calendar is one of the vintage chic notes. and the heart garland is made from Vintage Chic paper… i just realized that i am missing one piece of another patterned paper! i was counting the Color Magic… ok… you are going to LOOOOOOVE what all the other media team has created for your viewing pleasure! These ladies just ROCK!
